Mark talks about iEmpathize, a training program designed to combat human trafficking which focuses on promoting empathy among first responders. The program features survivor-led content to educate fire service professionals on how to recognize and respond to human trafficking situations. The training provides valuable insights into the red flags associated with trafficking and equips first responders with the tools needed for collaborative response efforts.
Many first responders who have completed the training have been able to identify and assist trafficking victims, resulting in rescues and family reunions. The program is available online for free and can be accessed individually or facilitated as a group, with the goal of making this essential knowledge mainstream within the fire service.
